Getting around
A car is useful, but Parks Canada shuttles and Roam Transit buses reduce parking stress. A national parks pass is required for every day you stop in the park. Moraine Lake road is closed to private vehicles, so book shuttles or tours.

Accommodation is expensive in summer; Canmore is cheaper. Free hikes and picnics balance the cost of tours and gondolas.

Carry bear spray on trails, know how to use it, and never feed wildlife.
